And finally… pedal of honour

A police crackdown on speeding cyclists has been met with widespread derision on social media.

Officers in Toronto posted photos on social media of them using radar guns to track the speed of cyclists on bike paths.

However, members of the public blasted the force for focusing resources on cyclists instead of motorists, blogTO reports.

One Twitter user wrote: “My little brother was killed by a guy who was texting and driving. [Toronto’s police force] barely does traffic enforcement. I can’t describe how angry this useless waste of time exercise makes me.”

In a follow-up statement, Toronto Police said the radar guns were deployed “purely for education and not enforcement”.
