Arthur Cox’s Belfast office has joined the all-island firm’s celebration of its 100th anniversary this year, nearly a quarter of a century since its expansion into Northern Ireland in 1996.

Coinciding with the corporate law firm’s centenary, Rowan White, a consultant for the firm in Belfast, is serving as president of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Catriona Gibson, managing partner of Arthur Cox in Belfast, said: “As we mark 100 years since our foundation, we are delighted that Rowan, one of the most experienced and respected lawyers in Northern Ireland and a valued consultant at Arthur Cox in Belfast is President of The Law Society of Northern Ireland.

“Advising an exceptionally strong client portfolio ranging from small family firms to globally recognised blue-chip companies, we have experienced rapid growth over the past 24 years in Northern Ireland.

“With a team of expert lawyers, comprising some of the most gifted and dynamic practitioners in the sector, businesses come to us for trusted and nuanced guidance on a diverse range of legal matters.”

Geoff Moore, managing partner across the island, added: “Ireland and the world have changed immeasurably over the course of the past 100 years but throughout that time, Arthur Cox has remained at the forefront of legal developments.

“This has been made possible by our progressive and open-minded outlook, started by our eponymous founder, and now embodied by our more than 800 staff across our offices worldwide.

“Our heritage is important to us but so is our future and I look forward to the further growth and strengthening of our Belfast office, under the guidance of Catriona and Chair Alan Taylor in the years to come.”

Alan Taylor, chair of Arthur Cox in Belfast, added: “‘Legal practice is ever-changing as the commercial realities change and it is great to be in a practice that looks forward and uses experience to guide clients to the future.”
