On Facebook, intern Freda, who is going into her final year of Law in Trinity College Dublin, is blogging about her experience with the firm’s corporate group.

She wrote: “I applied for the internship to experience what life at a leading law firm is like and it appears from the mixture of scheduled work within my practice group, training and social events organised by the firm that this programme will give me an excellent opportunity to do just that!

“What really stood out to me on my first day was the welcoming process. Upon arrival, we were each greeted by our ‘buddy’ who is a trainee from our practice group who will be our go-to person for any questions or issues we may have throughout the internship.

“Later that afternoon, they took us for lunch, gave us a tour of the building and introduced us to every member of our team. I found this one-to-one support invaluable. It prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by information overload on my first day and to feel comfortable with my colleagues from the very beginning.”
