Asylum appeals before 19 April postponed due to pandemic

The International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT) has postponed all hearings currently scheduled up to and including 19 April 2020.

Chairperson Hilkka Becker said the Tribunal was taking further measures to protect “the health and safety of appellants, tribunal staff and members and our stakeholders”.

Appellants and their legal representatives who are affected by the postponement of hearings do not need to take any further action.

The Tribunal will consider the position regarding hearings currently scheduled after 19 April and a further communication will be issued in the week beginning Tuesday 14 April confirming the position.
