Historic Kilkenny courthouse bollards sold at auction
A set of six historic bollards which used to mark the boundary of Kilkenny Courthouse have been sold at auction for €4,600.
The 19th-century bollards were removed from the courthouse around a decade and a half ago during renovations by the Courts Service.
The bollards were auctioned off by Sheppard’s and had been expected to net between €5,000 and €8,000.
Kilkenny Courthouse, also known as Grace’s Old Castle, is one of the oldest courthouses in the country.
