NI: Law Centre (NI) to host short film screening

Glenn Jordan, director of the Law Centre

Three critically acclaimed short films about slavery will be screened by Law Centre (NI) in collaboration with Foyle Film Festival and Unchosen later this month.

The screenings will be followed by a Q&A where the audience can discuss modern slavery in Northern Ireland with an expert panel, and explore action that can be taken to help those subjected to labour exploitation and trafficking.

The films include Yoke Farm, directed by Tim Keeling; My Friend Ivor, directed by Aleksandra Czenczek; and Nicu, directed by Niki Anastasi.

The panel will be chaired by Glenn Jordan, director of the Law Centre, and features solicitor Caroline Maguire from the Law Centre, Júlia Tomás from anti-slavery charity Unchosen, and Agnieszka Luczak from the North West region of the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (NICEM).

The free event takes place at 2pm on Thursday 19 November 2015 in Derry’s Nerve Centre Cinema.

Places are limited and interested parties can contact Christopher Morrison on c.morrison@nervecentre.org to RSVP.
