Mason Hayes & Curran LLP has announced the appointment of Sara O’Reilly as a partner in the firm’s financial services team, specialising in investment funds and asset management.

Ms O’Reilly has over 16 years’ experience practising as an investment funds lawyer, both in-house and in private practice. She helps clients navigate the regulatory approval process with the Central Bank of Ireland.

Having worked as head of legal at both an AIFM and a Super ManCo, she has a particular focus on the establishment, regulation and operation of UCITS management companies and AIFMs.

A graduate of UCD, Ms O’Reilly worked in-house at an international investment management company prior to joining Mason Hayes & Curran.

William Carmody, partner and head of financial services, said: “I am pleased to announce Sara’s appointment as partner in our investment funds team.

“Her industry experience means that she implicitly understands the regulatory and business challenges of our asset management clients, and her ability to deliver advice that is concise, practical and commercial significantly adds to the team’s already established reputation as trusted advisors.”

Ms O’Reilly added: “I am looking forward to working with the investment funds team to help our clients as they emerge from the volatility of 2020.

“Like many other industries, the funds industry has had to adapt and change priorities during the pandemic. Our role is to help our clients prepare for the challenges that 2021 may bring.”
