Business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran saw its revenue rise by four per cent to reach €85 million in 2019, the firm has announced.

The firm’s growth was spread across different sectors and practice areas, with the main drivers being demand in technology and data privacy, energy, financial services and litigation.

The firm also appointed 12 new partners across a range of practice areas, bringing the total number of partners to 90.

Mason Hayes & Curran is the only major law firm in Ireland to release turnover figures, but does not provide any other financial information.

Managing partner Declan Black, who was re-selected in November as managing partner for a third term, said: “We are pleased that our work with clients has led to solid growth in 2019. Doing well as a law firm is simply about consistently working hard, and cleverly, for clients.

“It was particularly gratifying to have the firm’s work and approach recognised by winning the Law Firm of the Year award for Ireland at The Lawyer European Awards in 2019.”

He added: “As political stability has returned to the UK, the economic markers for Ireland are strong. Ireland has remained remarkably centrist, progressive and pragmatic in its politics and free from the polarised and corrosive discourse seen in so many other countries and that’s a real competitive advantage for our economy and society.

“As Mason Hayes & Curran celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2020, the outlook for many of our clients is as positive as it has ever been in our half century of existence. For ourselves, we just stay focused on serving those clients by giving advice that is both practical and commercial, and by making sure that we are a place of opportunity and development for all our staff.”
