Mr Justice Liam McKechnie retires from Supreme Court
Mr Justice Liam McKechnie has retired from the Supreme Court bench after reaching 70 years of age.
A graduate of University College Cork and the King’s Inns, he was called to the Bar in 1972 and became a senior counsel in 1987.
He was appointed to the High Court in 2000 prior to his elevation to the Supreme Court in July 2010, where he delivered the lead judgment in a number of influential cases.
