Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring to be named Woman of the Year

Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring
Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring, chairwoman of the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (Gsoc), is set to be named “Woman of the Year” by the Irish Women Lawyers Association (IWLA).
The accolade will be bestowed upon the High Court judge, herself a former IWLA chairperson, at the IWLA’s annual gala dinner, held in collaboration with Law Society Skillnet and The Bar of Ireland.

Ms Justice Ring called to the Bar in 1985 and practiced in the areas of criminal, administrative and child law. She was called to the Inner Bar in 2002. She became a judge of the Circuit Court in April 2012 and of the High Court in July 2015.
