Paul Anthony McDermott
A full obituary of barrister, commentator and law lecturer Paul Anthony McDermott SC, who passed away at the age of 47, has been published by The Irish Times.
The obituary, written by his colleague Rossa Fanning SC, states: “The tragedy of his passing at the age of 47 on Tuesday is that he died before his legal and writing talents could have found full expression in the judicial career for which he always seemed destined.”
It adds that Mr McDermott “bore his grave illness with characteristic fortitude and serenity”.
