Staff in the Dublin office of international law firm Pinsent Masons are saddling up for a week-long charity push which will see the firm pedal almost 25,000 miles – the equivalent of a round the world cycle – over seven days.

The “WE Cycle the World” challenge is the firm’s first globally-coordinated charity event, in which staff from each of its 24 international offices will collectively cycle thousands of miles.

Funds raised by the initiative will be donated to WE, which champions the empowerment of communities to lift themselves out of poverty.

Staff in Dublin will be spinning up the miles on static bikes in the office from Monday 23 September, right throughout this week before hitting the road on Friday 28 Sept for a cycle to Malahide on a 38km return route.

Gayle Bowen, head of the law firm’s Dublin office, said: “We’re proud to be supporting the WE Charity through this cycling initiative. We know their support for some of the world’s most vulnerable people in many marginalised communities is vital. Participating in challenges such as the cycle is also good for our team spirit as well as demonstrating our commitment to being a responsible business and employer.”

Kate Pantin, associate director at WE Charity, added: “WE is incredibly proud to partner with Pinsent Masons. Thanks to their generous support, we are able to provide even more communities in India and Kenya with sustainable clean water solutions like wells and hand pumps, as well as empowering young people here in the UK to take action on local and global issues, through our WE Schools programme.

“We will be cheering on Pinsent Masons as they undertake this impressive fundraiser and wish all of their offices the very best of luck.”
