Second series of Striking Out to be longer than first

The second series of Irish legal drama Striking Out will be longer than the first, star Amy Huberman has revealed during filming.

Ms Huberman, who stars as fictional solicitor Tara Rafferty, told RTÉ News: “It’s great to be back because you never really know how it is going to go down.

“We are in the middle of our shoot at the moment. We have another six weeks left and we are in the thick of it. We have an extra two episodes this year, so we have gone from four episodes to six.”

Ms Huberman added: “There are loads more cases, loads episodic storylines and then all the main characters are back so there are their own personal stories.

“We are doing a lot more locations this year so we are out and about around Dublin and Wicklow so that has been great and I am really enjoying it.”

The RTÉ programme is Ireland’s first home-grown legal drama in years. The first episode was reviewed in Irish Legal News in January.

The show was broadcast on RTÉ One, but also became an overseas hit following its launch on streaming service Acorn TV in the US.
