NI: TLT: Demand for Belfast city centre living will create opportunities for property developers

A shift towards city centre living in Belfast will create new opportunities for property developers, according to law firm TLT.

Michael Wilson, an associate in the real estate team at TLT, told the Belfast Telegraph that there are “a number of prominent residential development projects under construction in the heart of the city”.

He added that the developments were not limited to student accommodation, though Ulster University’s new £250 million city campus “has had a positive impact”.

TLT recently advised Barnett Developments on the acquisition of a site for the construction of an 88-unit apartment complex on the Ormeau Road.

Mr Wilson said: “It is abundantly clear that the demand for city centre living shows no sign of abating.

“This will create a lot more opportunities, and developers will need to continue to adapt to occupier demands and consider the implications of more people wanting to relocate to Belfast’s rejuvenated city centre.”

TLT is sponsoring the Residential Lettings Agency of the Year Award in the 2018 Belfast Telegraph Property Awards.
