Watch: New trailer released for Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic

The film, to be released in the UK and Ireland in January, follows the future Justice Ginsburg (played by English actress Felicity Jones) through her education at Harvard Law School and her court challenges in support of gender equality and women’s rights.

When Justice Ginsburg enrolled at Harvard in 1956, she was one of only nine women in a class of around 500 men. She experienced gender discrimination both in education and her later career.

As director of ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project, which she co-founded in 1972, she argued six gender discrimination cases before the Supreme Court on which she would eventually sit - winning five of them. Her work is credited with delivering significant advances for women’s rights.
