Jerry Buting, star lawyer from hit documentary series Making a Murderer, will speak at the European Young Bar Association’s Spring conference in Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association (NIYSA) is bringing the conference to Northern Ireland for only the third time on 7-9 April 2016.

Mr Buting said: “Having dedicated my life to the legal profession, I am grateful to be able to attend such a wonderful event and help young lawyers in any way I can. I’m acutely aware of the challenges facing young lawyers in today’s world, so I’m always keen to pass on any useful advice I may have received over the years.

“Belfast is a wonderful city which has really progressed in recent years, and, in addition, I have family ties in Co. Antrim so I’m genuinely excited for the event and trip to Northern Ireland.”

Julie-Ann McCaffrey, chair of NIYSA, said she was “exceptionally proud to have been able to bring an event of this magnitude to Belfast”.
