A&L Goodbody wins transatlantic legal award
A&L Goodbody was named Irish Law Firm of the Year at The American Lawyer magazine’s Transatlantic Legal Awards.
At a ceremony in London, various law firms were recognised for excellence in handling transatlantic matters across the key areas of corporate, finance and disputes, as well as innovation.
Julian Yarr, managing partner at A&L Goodbody, said: “A&L Goodbody maintains a strategic focus and investment on both the East and West coasts of America.
“As the first Irish law firm to open an office in the US in 1978, the strong trade corridor between the U.S. and Ireland is an important and growing market for us and the wider Irish economy.
“Winning this award is a great affirmation of the excellent calibre of the work that we do for clients in the U.S. who do business in Ireland.”
Alan Casey, head of A&L Goodbody’s New York office, and John Whelan, head of A&L Goodbody’s San Francisco and Palo Alto offices, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
They said the award acknowledges the complex and high profile transactions that A&L Goodbody advise on and its continuing growth in attracting US clients.
