Alan Connell to head Eversheds Sutherland’s tax practice
Alan Connell has joined Eversheds Sutherland as a partner and head of the firm’s tax practice.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Mr Connell was a partner in the tax department of a large Irish corporate law firm and prior to that, he was a tax associate with Mayer Brown LLP in their London office.
He has extensive experience in corporate tax law and has advised on some of Ireland’s largest inward investment and restructuring projects.
In addition to being a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Law Society of England and Wales, Mr Connell is an active member of a number of international tax bodies, including the International Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association.
Alan Murphy, managing partner of Eversheds Sutherland and chairman of Eversheds International, said “We are delighted to welcome Alan Connell to our firm as our new Head of Tax. This is a growth area for our firm, particularly in light of our recent combination with US law firm Sutherland who already have strong tax credentials.
“We are delighted to bring a lawyer of Alan’s expertise and talent to our team to expand our tax offering for our clients.”
