Almost 1,200 legal professionals take part in Calcutta Run 2016
Almost 1,200 solicitors and legal professionals united in a bid to raise €200,000 for charity at the Calcutta Run over the weekend.
The legal fundraiser saw participants collect money for the Peter McVerry Trust and GOAL, which tackle homelessness in Ireland.
The run started and ended in the grounds of the Law Society of Ireland on Blackhall Place, Dublin.
Barrister Richard Musgrave achieved the best time in the men’s 10k, finishing the run in 37 minutes and 33 seconds.
He was followed by Charles Logue, trainee solicitor at Mason Hayes & Curran (MHC), who completed the run in 38 minutes, 1 second, and then by Robert Maloney of Matheson at 39 minutes, 33 seconds.
Florence Curley of PriceWaterhouseCoopers won the women’s 10k by coming in at 42 minutes, 4 seconds, followed by Breda O’Callaghan of KPMG on 43 minutes, 29 seconds, and Bronagh Elliott on 44 minutes, 35 seconds.
Fintan Kerins of Arthur Cox won the men’s 5k on 18 minutes, 21 seconds, followed by MHC’s Philip Nolan on 18 minutes, 55 seconds, and Will Greensmyth of Walkers on 19 minutes, 10 seconds.
Lucy Barrett won the women’s 5k on 21 minutes, 27 seconds, followed by Orla Walsh of McDowell Purcell Solicitors on 21 minutes, 47 seconds, and A&L Goodbody’s Sarah Ryan on 22 minutes, 1 second.
