The boss of one underground restaurant in Paris was arrested last week and over 110 of its guerrilla gastronomes were fined, TheLocal.fr reports.

Meanwhile, French TV network M6 sent an undercover reporter into another clandestine luxury restaurant and filmed free-flowing champagne and caviar.

One delinquent diner at the €220-per-head restaurant was recorded claiming to have dined there with government ministers.

Police and prosecutors are continuing to investigate, according to France24.
