And finally… bunkered
A juror caught reading a golf magazine during a robbery trial has been fined for contempt.
David Barron, 60, found himself in the dock at Southampton Crown Court after browsing bargain golf clubs from the jury box.
The court heard that when confronted by an usher, Mr Barron said the trial was “boring” and he “could not be bothered”, the Southern Daily Echo reports.
After being discharged from the jury, Mr Barron asked for his copy of Golf Monthly to be returned to him, but it was not.
He has been ordered to pay a £150 fine or face a day in prison.
