And finally… cutting remarks
Health authorities who distributed safe snorting advice to cocaine users have come under fire for making light of drug use.
Authorities in Bilbao handed out colourful credit cards - a popular tool for “cutting lines” - which bore slogans like: “Cut your line properly… If it is not properly cut, you could damage your nostrils”.
The health department insists they were not handed out “to just anyone” and were also accompanied with anti-drug advice, The Local reports.
But the conservative Popular Party said it was “real nonsense to hand out a kind of consumption ‘kit’ with such a flippant and frivolous message”.
Spain had the second highest rate of cocaine consumption in Europe in 2015, second only to the UK, according to EU-funded research.
