Thomas Wells, 33, was charged with abuse of corpses and criminal mischief.

His mother told police in McKeesport, Pittsburgh, that he had been staying with her for a brief time before she asked him to leave in September last year, the Tribune-Review reports.

Authorities said that Wells denied flushing the ashes but she claims he later said he would flush hers after she dies.
