A woman has admitted trying to defraud Elvis Presley’s family of millions of dollars and their stake in the rock-and-roll legend’s iconic Tennessee home, Graceland.

Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, orchestrated a scheme to conduct a fraudulent sale of Graceland — using a fake company, forged documents, and false court filings — by falsely claiming that Presley’s daughter had pledged Graceland as collateral for a loan that she failed to repay before her death.

Findley threatened to foreclose on Graceland and auction it to the highest bidder if Elvis Presley’s family did not pay or settle the claim against the estate.

She has now pleaded guilty in the Western District of Tennessee to one count of mail fraud.

Findley faces a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment when she is sentenced in June, though is expected to receive a lesser sentence.

Tennessee’s attorney general Jonathan Skrmetti said: “Graceland matters so much to so many people around the world — just go to Memphis during Elvis Week and listen to all the different accents and languages of fans who make the pilgrimage.

“All of Tennessee is glad that Graceland remains safely in the possession of Elvis’s heir and that it will remain a celebrated Memphis landmark for generations to come.”
