And finally… do as I say, not as I do

A former drug lord has launched a bid to be elected as mayor of his hometown on an anti-drugs platform.
Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa is seeking to be elected as mayor of Albuera, a town of around 50,000 people in the Leyte province of the Phiippines.
His father, Rolando Espinosa, was elected as the town’s mayor in May 2016 — also on an anti-drugs platform — but was later arrested on drug-related charges and shot dead in his jail cell in November 2016.
The younger Espinosa told the Philippine Daily Inquirer: “Because of my wrong decisions and involvement in illegal drugs, my father died.
“I do not want others to experience what I went through. I have seen the harmful effects of drugs on people. It is not good.”
He is running alongside his younger sister, Mariel, who is running for the position of vice-mayor.
