And finally… doggone
A man arrested after a high-speed car chase allegedly told officers he was teaching his dog how to drive.
Officers said they found a pit bull behind the wheel of the car when it eventually came to a halt, but the dog’s 51-year-old owner was steering.
The bizarre incident took place in the US state of Washington over the weekend, CNN reports.
Multiple people called 911 after the car was seen driving erratically in Seattle and hit two other vehicles.
After a chase at up to 109 miles per hour, officers used spike strips to bring the vehicle to a stop.
Officer Heather Axtman told CNN: “I’ve been in a lot of high speed chases, I’ve stopped a lot of cars, and never have I gotten an excuse that they were teaching their dog how to drive.”
The man has been charged with reckless endangerment, hit and run, driving under the influence and eluding police. The dog has been placed in an animal shelter.
