And finally… first as tragedy
A city police chief sacked over social media misconduct was replaced by a deputy who was almost immediately sacked for the same thing.
Chief Brandon del Pozo resigned last week as police chief in Burlington, a college town in the US state of Vermont, after questions were asked about an anonymous Twitter account he created.
He allegedly used the Twitter account to attack a local community activist who had criticised him.
After his resignation, del Pozo was replaced by deputy chief Jan Wright.
However, Wright handed in her own resignation later the same day after admitting that she also operated a Facebook account under a false name to target individuals, including the same community activist.
The city’s latest interim chief, Jon Murad, has now “confirmed explicitly to the city attorney” that he “has never engaged in anonymous social media posting”, CBS News reports.
