And finally… grounded
A 79-year-old flight attendant with a $250,000 salary has launched a lawsuit against her former employer after being dismissed nearly six decades into the job.
Ida Gomez Llanos was the most senior flight attendant at Delta Airlines, having joined the firm in 1962 - over two decades before smoking was banned in the air.
In a claim filed in California, she alleges that her employer had failed to deal with years of harassment, discrimination and retaliation based on age and sex.
She claims that she was subject to bullying and false accusations to co-workers coveting her privileges and salary as a long-standing employee.
Carney Shegerian of law firm Shegerian and Associates said Ms Gomez was “a loyal, diligent, hard-working Delta employee for more than five decades”.
