And finally… hard luck
A Mafia kingpin who was spared a custodial sentence after a judge took pity on him for having a permanent erection but who fled while under house arrest has been caught, after seven years.
Francesco Castriotta, 42, went on the run while under house arrest in 2009.
He had begged a judge in Milan not to jail him because of his painful condition, known as a priapism.
As Castriotta cried in court, clutching a bag of ice against his groin, he said the condition was caused by years of snorting cocaine and worried the other inmates would laugh at him.
The judge took pity on the mobster and spared him prison, only for him to repay her by skipping house arrest.
But Italian police caught up with the gangster in El Vendrell, Spain this week.
He had already been tried in absentia and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
