The woman’s “obsession with the dogs made it unbearable for the husband to continue in the marriage”, a family court in Singapore ruled.

Over 300 text messages were submitted to the court, in many of which the woman repeatedly referred to the dogs as “the kids”.

The woman was a former practising lawyer but had refused to continue working and harassed her husband for food and money even after they separated, CNA reports.

“In this case, the evidence overwhelmingly pointed to an unhappy pair that had been unable to live as husband and wife for many years,” the judge said.
