And finally… in the pink
A homeowner has won a planning battle started after a neighbour challenged her decision to paint her front door pink.
The woman was forced to make a retrospective planning application after a neighbour complained to the local authority about the paint being “too bright”.
Because her home in the Scottish town of North Berwick is in a conservation area, East Lothian Council agreed to investigate.
However, the woman has been told she can keep the colour after the council received six letters in support of her, The Times reports.
A council spokesperson said the door is “only visible in short duration glimpsed views from the public road” and is not “harmful to the character and appearance of the conservation area”.
