And finally… keep on truckin’
Women have been banned from the front seats of trucks in Uganda after being branded a road hazard.
Ugandan authorities have claimed male truck drivers are liable to be distracted by women wearing revealing clothing in their driver’s cabin, Kenya’s The Star reports.
The bizarre directive was imposed following a major road accident that killed nine people near Lira in the north of Uganda, despite no evidence of a connection.
Social media users in Uganda questioned the decision, with one writing: “How many of these accidents involve women seated at the front and are wearing short skirts? Just produce that report whoever came up with this decision.”
