John Goddard, 48, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and causing disturbances after reports he had exposed himself in a Subway in south Belfast.

Although a small amount of cannabis was found on him, he was taken for X-rays due to suspicions that he had concealed other items in his rectum.

After he returned from the hospital, police allegedly saw Mr Goddard remove a Kinder Egg from his backside and place it in his mouth.

It was seized from him following a struggle and found to contain more cannabis, officers told Belfast Magistrates’ Court.

Mr Goddard was remanded in custody and will appear in court again in four weeks’ time.
