And finally… last McWill and testament
A will hastily written on a McDonald’s napkin has been formally accepted by a judge.
Philip Langan, who recently passed away at the age of 80, wrote the will while sitting in a McDonald’s restaurant because he thought he was having a heart attack, a court found.
The court in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan heard that Mr Langan had given the napkin will to one of his seven surviving children for safekeeping.
Lawyers for one of his children disputed the napkin will, which said his estate should be divided between all seven equally, but failed to convince the court, The Times reports.
Judge Layh was satisfied that Mr Langan made the will when he thought he was having a heart attack, “a time when one’s mind would reasonably turn to the question of estate planning”.
A court in Saskatchewan previously, in 1941, accepted a will scratched into the side of a tractor by a dying farmer who was trapped underneath it.
