The municipal council of Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava has begun proceedings against Samuel SLZR as he allegedly links the town to “vandalism, crime and corruption”.

His song, entitled Lloret de Mar, states: “Welcome to Lloret de Mar, the perfect place to steal. The mayor steals, the cops steal, tell me why you are not going to steal.”

The song depicts drug consumption by tourists and other illegal activities.

It adds: “Welcome to the town where the police take five euros from kids and do not stop pederasts or that kind of shit.”

Jaume Dulsat, the town’s mayor, said: “It [the song] seems to me offensive, in bad taste and with manifest lies. It speaks in pejorative terms of the local police and of myself, so we will take legal measures.”

He added: “When you talk like that about a tourist destination, the damage you cause to the brand is very big. We believe the action will be the most effective way to respond.”
