And finally… metal of honour
A law firm has installed a cheeky plaque honouring a police force “whose incompetence paid for this building”.
The Life & Liberty Law Office recently unveiled the bronze plaque dedicated to the local police force in the firm’s home town of Loveland, Colorado.
Attorney Sarah Schielke told FOX31: “There is a quote from Joseph Campbell that I try to live my life by: ‘Participate joyfully in the sorrows of the world. We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.’
“That’s my building. That’s my plaque. I will never forget the sorrows that were inflicted upon my clients or the brutal governmental forces that I’ve had to fight against to get here. But I will always look for opportunities, maybe cast in bronze, to participate joyfully along the way.”
The plaque states: “Thank you to the Loveland Police Department whose incompetence paid for this building.”
Ms Schielke has sued Loveland Police Department on many occasions. In 2021, she secured a $3 million settlement on behalf of a woman with dementia who was violently arrested the previous year.
