And finally… Mull it over
A woman who travelled from London to the Isle of Mull to take the UK’s easiest driving test has admitted she still failed.
Constance Kampfner wrote in The Times this week of her mission to take an easier test after failing the first time in London.
She decided to make the 500-mile journey to Mull after reading that it has one of the highest pass rates in the UK at over 90 per cent.
The route for driving tests in Mull does not include the island’s single roundabout or anywhere to parallel park.
Despite feeling she was “doing quite well”, Ms Kampfner said she was told of her failure while travelling back to mainland Scotland with the instructor.
He reportedly told her: “I don’t like to talk about people who fail their tests. Think of it as just not passing.”
