And finally… petty courts
Courts in Argentina and Venezuela have issued arrest warrants for each other’s presidents.
A Caracas court issued the warrant for the arrest of Argentinian president, Javier Milei, accusing him of the “theft” of a cargo plane belonging to the Venezuelan company Emtrasur, which was seized in Buenos Aires last year.
In response, an Argentine court issued a warrant for the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro, accusing him of crimes against humanity.
Relations between the countries became particularly bad since the election of Milei.
Argentina did not recognise Maduro’s re-election victory in July, after which Caracas severed diplomatic ties with Argentina and other Latin American countries.
