Pig entrails have been flung across the floor of parliament in Taiwan in protest at new pork import rules.
Opposition MPs threw offal at their government counterparts in the latest escalation of protests against plans to relax restrictions on pork imports from the US.
Taiwan will allow US pork containing ractopamine, an additive banned in the EU and China, to be imported from January 2021, CNN reports.
Friday’s stunt was the latest in a series of recent actions by the Kuomintang, Taiwan’s largest opposition party, to prevent the prime minister from addressing parliament.
