And finally… short and sweet
China’s first corgi police dog has become a social media hit — despite his frequent misbehaviour.
The police force in Weifang, in China’s eastern Shandong province, has just marked one year since Fu Zai joined the team as a reserve bomb-detector dog.
Despite his stubby legs, Fu Zai went on to become a fully-qualified police dog as well as a local celebrity, The Straits Times reports.
However, the force became the target of Fu Zai’s social media fan club after uploading a jokey video showing his end-of-year bonus of dog treats and toys being confiscated for sleeping on the job and peeing where he isn’t supposed to.
Fans inundated the video, published on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, with comments until a follow-up video reassured them that Fu Zai has in fact been inundated with treats during his tenure.
