A Florida man who fled from a large alligator in his storage shed was left embarrassed after police discovered it was a swimming pool inflatable.
The man had gone into his shed to fetch boxes but was startled by the large inflatable and told his wife to call the police.
“He says it’s big, he says it’s big,” she was recorded telling a 911 dispatcher in a panicked voice.
But when police arrived, they found a beat-up inflatable held together with duct tape, ClickOrlando.com reports.
Pictures of officers posing with the inflatable went viral after being shared on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account.
