And finally… stiff breeze
Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has denied rumours that fumes from its viagra factory in County Cork are exciting local men – and dogs.
Residents of Ringaskiddy, on Ireland’s southwestern coast, told The Sunday Times they’ve been “getting the love fumes for years now”.
Innkeeper Debbie O’Grady quipped: “One whiff and you’re stiff!”
Fiona Toomey, a former Pfizer worker, added: “Even the dogs here have been known to walk around in a state of sexual excitement.”
But the pharma company – one of the world’s largest, with over $50 billion in revenue last year – insisted it adheres to strict Irish laws.
A spokesperson for Pfizer said: “Our manufacturing processes have always been highly sophisticated as well as highly regulated.”
