And finally… the cup that cheers
A lawyer caught driving while nearly four times the drink-drive limit claimed that homemade kombucha tea was to blame.
Louise Taylor, 41, told a court in Llandudno, Wales that she was not a drinker and had been given the tea by a friend for her gut health.
Defence lawyers for Ms Taylor, who is general counsel and company secretary for a bank, insisted it was an honest mistake, WalesOnline reports.
However, Judge Graham Edwards rejected her account and said he didn’t believe the kombucha had anything to do with her blood alcohol level.
Ms Taylor was bailed for a pre-sentence report and an interim driving ban was imposed.
