And finally… why so serious?
A candidate for political office in Japan is conducting his campaign dressed as the Joker.
Yuusuke Kawai, who is hoping to become governor of Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, is running as a candidate for the Party to Make All of Chiba a Land of Dreams and Magic, SoraNews24 reports.
His campaign pledges include, among other things, using the song Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen as the prefecture’s theme song and outlawing the word “trash” and replacing it with “star fragment”.
He is also aiming to annoy rival candidate Masayuki Hiratsuka, who opposes masks and vaccines and claims Covid-19 is “just a cold”.
“Just getting colds is not pleasant,” Mr Kawai told reporters this week.
