And finally… worth a try
Scotland’s national rugby team is considering “legal options” to ensure its World Cup game against host Japan goes ahead in spite of a looming typhoon.
Two games have already been cancelled in anticipation of Super Typhoon Hagibis, which is expected to hit Japan this weekend.
World Rugby has said it will not reschedule the games due to strict tournament rules dictating they must be played on the scheduled day, STV News reports.
Instead, cancelled matches will be recorded as a 0-0 draw, with two points awarded to both teams.
However, this result would likely see Scotland eliminated from the tournament.
Scottish Rugby Union chief executive Mark Dodson has threatened legal action to make sure Scotland’s game is moved to another venue or delayed.
Mr Dodson told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “We’ve had legal opinion from a leading QC that challenges World Rugby’s interpretation [of the rules].”
