Two men in their 40s were arrested in the English city of Stoke-on-Trent after receiving a “suspicious call” on Wednesday night, The Guardian reports.

Police believe one of the men accidentally dialled 999 by sitting on his phone, allowing officers to listen in as they alleged carried out a burglary.

Chief inspector John Owen said: “I think we have just arrested the world’s unluckiest burglars.”

He added that the call “[detailed] all of their antics up to the point of hearing our patrols arrive to arrest them”.
