Andrew Magowan appointed to Northern Ireland’s Department of Health

Andrew Magowan
Northern Ireland solicitor Andrew Magowan has been appointed as a non-executive director to the Department of Health’s board.
He has also been appointed as a member of the Departmental Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (DARAC).
Both appointments are for a period of three years, beginning 1 October 2022, with the possibility of an extension to a maximum of six years.
Mr Magowan is a qualified solicitor with over 15 years’ experience within boardrooms and executive committees, most recently with Berry Bros & Rudd as general counsel and director of sustainability and prior to that with ASOS Plc as general counsel and company secretary.
As a non-executive director, he will contribute to the good governance of the Department of Health, offering oversight and constructive challenge across the Department to ensure that all aspects of strategy and delivery of policy are scrutinised for effectiveness and efficiency.
