Arthur Cox has signed Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter, an industry-led and government-backed initiative promoting women in the financial services industry.

The Charter underpins the industry’s ambition to see increased participation of women at all levels, including junior, middle and senior management, leadership and board roles within financial services organisations based in Ireland.

It sets out clear principles to support the progression of women, encouraging organisations to set and achieve meaningful gender diversity targets.

By signing the Charter, Arthur Cox said it is reinforcing its dedication to fostering more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces.

Dara Harrington, partner and head of the firm’s finance group, said: “As legal advisers to the financial services industry, we see first-hand the importance of diverse perspectives in driving innovation and decision-making.

“By signing the Charter, we are making a commitment to advancing gender balance both within our own firm and across the sector.”

Louise O’Byrne, employment partner and one of Arthur Cox’s EDI partners, said: “Improving gender diversity in financial services is not just the right thing to do — it strengthens businesses and leads to better outcomes.

“We are proud to support Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter and will continue to drive meaningful change within our firm and the wider industry.”

Aisling McNiffe, Financial Services Ireland (Ibec) and member of the Women in Finance Steering Group, added: “We are delighted to have Arthur Cox sign the Women in Finance Charter.

“Achieving gender balance in financial services requires strong leadership and collective action.

“By becoming a signatory, Arthur Cox is demonstrating its commitment to a building a more inclusive sector where women can thrive.

“I would encourage more firms based in Ireland to sign up to the Charter.”

As part of the firm’s commitment, Arthur Cox will track progress on gender diversity and actively participate in initiatives to support the goals of the Charter.
