Arthur Cox wins top Irish accolade at European M&A awards

Arthur Cox has been named as Ireland’s legal adviser of the year at the Mergermarket M&A Awards Europe 2022.
An awards ceremony in London this week recognised the achievements of Europe’s top dealmakers and rewarded innovative advisory work on some of the region’s most transformative deals of the past year.
Cian McCourt, partner and head of corporate and M&A at Arthur Cox, said: “We are very pleased to receive this award which recognises the quality and scale of work by our team to support our clients across a range of mandates and sectors.
“While the global economy has slowed, M&A volumes have remained resilient and Ireland remains an attractive investment destination so we look forward to 2023 with confidence.”
Deals led by the Arthur Cox M&A team in 2022 include Mediahuis Ireland’s €30m acquisition of Carzone, the $3.8bn sale of CRH plc’s OldCastle BuildingEnvelope Inc. to KPS Capital Partners LP and Flutter Entertainment plc’s acquisition of Sisal S.p.A.
Earlier this year, Arthur Cox also topped Mergermarket’s M&A league table by deal value, advising on 17 transactions valued at $7,700 million.
