Arthur Cox wins top Irish accolade at European M&A awards
Arthur Cox was named Ireland Legal Adviser of the Year at the Mergermarket M&A Awards Europe 2023 at a ceremony in London on Wednesday.
The awards recognise the achievements of Europe’s top dealmakers and reward innovative advisory work on some of the region’s most transformative deals of the past year.
Cian McCourt, partner and head of corporate and M&A at Arthur Cox, said: “This award is a fantastic recognition of the quality and scale of work by our team to support our clients across a range of mandates and sectors, and we are especially proud to have won this award three years running.
“Combined with the recent results from Experian, this award cements the firm as the market leader for large-scale, complex, cross-border M&A work. Despite global headwinds, M&A volumes have remained resilient, and Ireland remains an attractive investment destination so we look forward to 2024 with optimism.”
Deals led by the Arthur Cox M&A team in 2023 included advising Flutter Entertainment plc on its acquisition of an initial 51 per cent stake in MaxBet; Apex Group Ltd. on its acquisition of Bank of America Custodial Services (Ireland) Limited; and Greencore Group plc on the sale of its wholly owned subsidiary, Trilby Trading Limited, to K.T.C. (Edibles) Limited.
Earlier this month, Arthur Cox topped Experian’s M&A league table by deal volume, advising on 41 transactions for the year-to-date 2023.
